Sample Topics and Content:

  • Applied Behavior Analysis

    • This presentation will cover the basic principles of behavior analysis, practical application of these basic principles, and ethical issues related to the delivery of behavior analysis services. Effective teaching methodologies that use principles of applied behavior analysis will be discussed.
  • Individual Education Plans
    • This workshop will provide step-by step instructions in writing a positive and thorough present level of performance with priority educational needs.  Essential components needed in the development of measurable goals and objectives will be reviewed.  Participants will have the opportunity to write their own present level of performance with goals and objectives that coincide with priority educational needs.
  • Toilet Training
    • This workshop provides participants with step-by- step instructions for the development and implementation of effective systematic toilet training programs. Data collection tools will be provided along with visual supports and social stories to promote successful implementation.
  • Understanding Autism Spectrum Disorders

    • This presentation provides an overview of the three core deficit areas inherent in all individuals with autism spectrum disorders.  Specific disorders within the spectrum will be discussed along with an overview of evidence based interventions.
  • Visual Supports
    • This presentation reviews the essential elements of an effective visual schedule; how to determine if a child is ready for a visual schedule; how to prepare the schedule and how to teach the child to successfully and consistently use it.  Each participant will have the opportunity to make their own visual schedule to take with them.
  • Assistive Technology
    • This presentation will focus on several ways to adapt/modify materials, texts, and direct instruction to best meet student needs through the use of a variety of low tech to high tech tools and software programs. 
  • Support Groups
    • This presentation provides information on the essential components necessary to run successful support groups for varying needs.  Content, group format, and marketing ideas will be provided
  • Social Skills Instruction
    • Many individuals with autism spectrum disorders have limited or deficient social skills. This presentation will review core deficits in the area of socialization and friendship development along with practical and effective strategies for directly teaching essential skills.
  • Understanding and Treating Problem Behaviors
    • This presentation will provide information regarding the cause and nature of behavior issues. An in-depth review of effective and practical methods for treating behavior problems at home, school, and the community will follow
  • Social Groups
    • Highly effective instructional programs will be reviewed which successfully teach appropriate social and play behaviors to individuals with autism spectrum disorders.  Materials including visual supports, social stories, video modeling samples, and data collection sheets will be provided in order to afford the opportunity to immediately begin implementing your own social skills groups.

 

 

 

 

Presentation and Workshop Formats

  • Full day lecture/workshop
  • ½ day lecture/workshop with ½ day site visit for direct observation, feedback, and technical assistance
  • Full day lecture/workshop with 2 day on-site follow up
  • Weekend 2 day conference format
  • One week intense training and on-site technical assistance

           

Presentation and Workshop Rates

  • $1500 per day plus all travel expenses per consultant
    • Travel expenses include: coach airfare, hotel, food (actual or per diem), transport to and from airports, and actual cost of shipping any bulk materials to and from presentation site (UPS)
    • Handouts will be sent in advance for copying
    • 50% deposit must be received 30 days in advance of presentation date with balance due upon arrival
